This past February I had a solo installation art show, with the theme of heartbreak and hardships of LOVE. The show took place at CRAVE coffeeshop in Ventura, CA.
I started my paint series a year ago, started off with journaling and sketching about a past heartbreak. In May 2024 my family and I experienced a passing of one of the most important people in my life my grandma aka 'gamma', this led to a deep dive of heartbreak art.
Heartbreak in my life after May took a turning point and now has now gone deeper than any other pain. My vision was to create art during a time when I could not express my emotions in words.
Seeing the whole series on display together it brings a powerful statement to the audience about heartbreak & loss; furthermore, the idea that you are not alone when you have felt similar pain from love.
Hellooo I'm Destini
Aka: ππππππ
My art is influenced by life and its ups and downs. Most recently it captures the pain of heartbreaks and finding Love. There is balanced khaos, symbols and hearts in every piece! My work varies from detailed black and white pen drawn illustrations to vibrant painted murals and kanvases with tattoo influences
But...
Here's a little bit about me I'm 25, I live in Ventura County born and raised, and I make art. Happy to say my bestie and confidant is my lil sister Jazmin, and we grew up with a tight-knit family. My parents are artist as well as my little brother. My dad having been a graffiti, skater, break dance kid in Oxnard, CA and my mom also being a dancer and a natural born teacher. I had a chance to pursue all my creative endeavors. A little background about me is I went to skool in CSUCI and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. I currently work as a lead barista/art director at an amazing coffeeshop called CRAVE in portside Ventura, CA
I have a big influence in 1940s pinup figures and tattoo designs.
My most recent work has a consistent color pallet of red, blacks, teals and yellows. Most importantly I frequently use leopard pattern because I'm just truly obsessed. The themes of my art reflect where I am in life hence, I created heartbreak art, and now I am moving on into a new theme of 'women no longer needing a man to save them' going against the fictional theme of damsel in distress! Stay tuned.
Be the first to hear about some local art shows I will be showcasing in, special events, and art for sale !
